Export records with ANSI encoding produces different record delimiters on Mac/Win (3 Comments)

Description of the issue

When exporting records a tab delimited the record delimiters are different depending on the host OS.
On Mac OS X, CR is used, on Windows LF is used.
I believe this is a long standing issue. It also applies to csv and merge export.

This issue causes problems on enterprise systems that expect LF, not CR.

Steps to reproduce the problem

Export records as tab delimited and choose Windows (ANSI) format.

Expected result

The exported files should be identical, regardless of platform.
The error seems to be on the Mac version, as LF is the standard on Windows.

Actual result

On Mac OS X, CR is used as record delimiter, on Windows LF is used.

Workaround

Run the file through a text editor after export and change the line endings from CR to LF or use a PC to do the export.
