Windows 7Description of the issue
For some reason FileMaker Pro decided to stop working in the middle of the day. I'm not sure if it's something I did building a start up script in the File menu>File Options area or if it was something else.I created a script that was intended to search for a particular record as soon as the file was opened. After creating and saving this script I closed the file. The application also closed for some reason.
Now when I go to relaunch FileMaker Pro, it will load up to the initial start-up screen (where you can select which file to open) then immediately closes. There are no error messages, it simply closes. (See Image1: http://tinypic.com/r/313j7rt/8)
I have tried a complete uninstall, including wiping the registry, and then re-installing. The issue remains.
After the initial (re)installation and the first launch of the file, I will be taken to the start screen where it will ask if I wish to download the update. Choosing "No" immediately closes the application. Again, with no errors reported. (See Image2: http://tinypic.com/r/14y1xf8/8)
Windows has not updated today, I have not installed any new applications and a virus scan comes up clean. There are no other versions of FileMaker installed.
I am at a completely loss. Is there any way to open up a "safe" version of FMP in order to get in and disable the script (if that is what is causing the issue)?
