FileMaker Pro

Version

12

Operating system version

Mac OS 10.9.4

Description of the issue

For technical writing (scientific, medical, legal) it would be an enormous time saver to use an already trained spelling dictionary instead of retraining the specific FileMaker spellchecker.

Is there a way to use the standard Mac OSX spelling dictionary with FileMaker? Short of this optimal solution is there an easy way to batch add words to the FM word list?

I see a user word list in Applications/FM 12/Extensions/Dictionaries/User.upr. There's a file of the same name in Applications/FM12/FMI Runtime Libraries/Internal Runtime Libraries/Extensions/Dictionaries/User.upr but it's not updated when I add a word.

The format of the FileMaker word lists is unfortunately not just a simple 1 word per line, so other word lists would presumably have to be reformatted before they can be added:
#HEADER START#2#0#0#0#≠#0#0#0#0#0#HEADER END#
#cytometry#0
#GFP#0
#phosphorylation#0

Has anybody figured this out?
