Description of the issue

Web viewers do not display any content when WebDirect is used with HTTPS connections. Web viewers work fine when WebDirect is used with HTTP, but an HTTPS connection causes web viewers to stop loading content.

Steps to reproduce the problem

Connect to WebDirect using HTTPS and open a database and layout with a web viewer.

Expected result

Web viewers should load content from the URLs they are set to.

Actual result

Web viewers remain blank and do not load any content.

Configuration information

I've been testing this using a valid SSL certificate from Comodo. Server is a Mac mini running 10.9.

Workaround

Loading the same database and layout using HTTP instead of HTTPS resolves the issue, but you lose the HTTPS encryption and protection.
