OS X 10.10.1Description of the issue
When we have a database with a default guest account, we hold down the option key while opening the database to enable log in with another account.Holding down the option key while launching any file in OS X 10.10.1 causes the finder window that the file is selected from to close. OS X system behaviour overrides FileMaker option key use.
It would be very helpful if this was not the case. A very small but often repeated annoyance.
Perhaps an additional alternate key to hold down that would pop up the FileMaker log-in dialog might but a possible solution.
Steps to reproduce the problem
Just hold down the option key while launching any file in OS X 10.10.1 and watch the finder window close.Expected result
File maker login dialog and no finder window closeActual result
File maker login dialog and finder window closeExact text of any error message(s) that appear
It is not an error just requires reopening the finder window again and again during testing... or disabling the guest access : )Workaround
disabling the guest access : ) or any other default access that does not require a password. Not really a solution ...
