Issue report by Matt Panton

Product

FileMaker Pro

Version

13.0v9

Operating system version

Windows 8.1 64bit / Windows 7 64bit

Description of the issue

When using a button to construct an email, within seconds of Outlook opening, the error message pops up (see screenshot)

Sadly reverting to 32bit office is sadly not a fix we can work with long trem, using large Word docs means 64bit Office suite is needed ultimately

Steps to reproduce the problem

Test 1
Open Filemaker, click the button to start the email. Outlook opens and then crashes, test system = Win8.1 64bit/Outlook 2013 64bit

Test 2
Open Filemaker, click the button to start the email. Outlook opens and works, test system = Win7 64bit/Outlook 2013 64bit

Test 3
Open Filemaker, click the button to start the email. Outlook opens and works, test system = Win7 64bit/Outlook 2007 32bit

Test 4
Open Filemaker, click the button to start the email. Outlook opens, test system = Win7 64bit/Outlook 2010 32bit

Test 2 - Outlook error message appears

Test 3 - Outlook works, email can be sent

Test 4 - Outlook works, email can be sent

Actual result

Test 1 - Outlook error message appears

Test 2 - Outlook error message appears

Test 3 - Outlook works, email can be sent

Test 4 - Outlook works, email can be sent

Exact text of any error message(s) that appear

Server Busy

This action cannot be completed because the other program is busy, Choose 'Switch To' to activate the busy program and correct the problem

Configuration information

Tried the fix to create the registry key

HLCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\RPC

DeConnectOpts with a value of 0

this didn't work for us.

Workaround

Use 32 bit version of Office/Outlook
