I have a db served from the WAN. On my copy of Vista inserting files into a container by reference is ultra slow. If I don't have the by reference box ticked the process can be quite quick. By reference is currently taking nearly 2 minutes. This is crazy. I see from Techtalk and by googleing the issue I'm not the first to see the problem. The delay depends on the files path. The C drive seems nothing like as bad but the Z drive (a network location) is terrible. This is not as simple as a slow network as when the files are inserted direct into a container (not by reference) they are near instant.The fault is re-produceable.↧
