Text Pasted from Clipboard does not always retain complete text formatting (5 Comments)

Issue report by PhilModJunk

Product

FileMaker Pro

Version

12.04

Operating system version

Windows xp

Description of the issue

As discussed/discovered here: http://forums.filemaker.com/posts/b09c02c8af?commentId=243959#243959
When copying and pasting formatted text from another application, the text formatting of the original text is not always reproduced in the pasted text.

Steps to reproduce the problem

Go to the discussion thread of the link I have posted.
Copy the blue and red text in the original post.
Paste this text into a Filemaker text field open in Windows (Does not appear to be the case in Mac systems).

Expected result

Both Blue and red text appears in the field

Actual result

Entire text is blue--the meta data for blue text color was preserved, but not that for the red text.

Configuration information

I am using an up to date copy of FireFox for Windows Xp.
This as not yet been tested in Windows 7.

Workaround

If you paste the copied text into MS Word, the text pastes with correct formatting--ruling out the possibility that this is an issue with the web browser or the Windows OS. If you then copy and paste this text from MS Word, the text correctly pastes with both color formats.

The screen shot included here shows the paste from my FireFox browser on the last line and the paste from MS Word on the first line.
