Description of the issue

I am not able to make a simple addition work in my layouts. Also I am not able to double click anymore on the field or funtion to use. I am having to type all of this. what has happened. I have tried doing every different way i have found in looking for a solution. This is very annoying and time consuming. I have never before had a problem making filemaker work. Please help
