Issue report by Christi Palme

Product

FileMaker Pro

Version

13.x

Operating system version

Windows 7 SP1 and up

Description of the issue

If the user's Windows Display setting gets changed from "smaller (100%)" to Medium (125% default)", Filemaker has issues with screen refresh and cursor behavior. The problem goes away in Filemaker if it's window is zoomed to 150 or greater. The screen refresh manifests as jumbled pixels if the user scrolls through the layout by dragging the scrollbar or through a list view by scrolling with the scroll wheel. (scrolling by clicking in the scroll bar track does NOT cause the issue). The cursor behavior manifests as the cursor displaying approximately 3 characters away from there the user clicks or is typing. These two issues appeared on two separate systems so they may be unrelated but in both instances switching the user's Windows display settings to "smaller (100%)" resolved the problem. I would consider this a work around rather than a complete solution.

Steps to reproduce the problem

Set Windows display setting (control panel) to at least "medium (125%)"

Expected result

normal cursor behavior and clean screen refreshing during scrolls

Actual result

cursor displays about 3 characters to the left of where text is showing up OR scrolling through a layout by dragging the scrollbar jumbles the pixels (both list view and form view)

Exact text of any error message(s) that appear

none

Configuration information

Appears to be only version 13 and only Windows 7 SP 1 or greater

Workaround

Reduce Windows display setting to "Smaller (100%)"
