Description of the issue
My FMP12 database contains tabbed container fields, some of which are designed to be be linked to a PDF file. When the tab with a PDF file is active, and I try to move from one record to the next either by going up and down, or doing a search, FMP12 crashes. A detailed report was appearing when the crash would happen with a button asking if I wanted to reopen FMP. This report is no longer being generated. This problem has only been occurring since I updated to OS 10.9 (Mavericks) last week. I've noticed that if I have a non-PDF-capable tab selected, then I have no problem navigating around my database. This is a problem though, as I rely on seeing PDF files to know the status of a particular project. I've noticed other issues with PDF files since the upgrade, so I suspect this is a problem with Adobe and their PDF plug-in.
Steps to reproduce the problem
Navigating around a database with active container fields linked to PDF files causes FMP 12 to crash in OS 10.9 (Mavericks).
Expected result
I should be able to see any linked PDF files in my database and use the plug-in to zoom in or out and view pages. This is critical in managing the projects I'm working on.
Actual result
FMP 12 crashes whenever I try to navigate to a different record in my database, if there is a PDF file linked to an active container field.
Exact text of any error message(s) that appear
A detailed error report would appear at first, but is no longer showing up after FMP12 crashes. When I reopen I get error messages complaining that there is a port conflict for file sharing, and that my database was improperly closed. Obviously!
Workaround
The only workaround I've noticed is if I have one of my other tabbed container fields selected, one that is not designed to accept a PDF file, then I have no trouble freely navigating around my database. But this makes it difficult to know if relevant artwork for a project, ideally linked in PDF form, has been completed, so this is making my job much more difficult.
