WindowsDescription of the issue
In FileMaker 11, a Container Field containing a vector-based EPS file displays the low-res raster preview of the EPS. However, when the Record is printed to the Adobe PDF "printer", or when the Record is saved as a PDF, the resulting PDF displays the actual content of the EPS as the scaleable vector artwork, not the low-res EPS preview raster. With the same setup in FileMaker 13, the resulting PDF contains only the low-res raster image preview of the EPS. This is unacceptable for the intended use of the final PDF, and makes FileMaker 13 unusable for the publication work which was previously done in FileMaker 11.
Steps to reproduce the problem
On Windows, uising FileMaker 13:1. Create a vector-based drawing in a drawing program capable of saving/exporting to EPS.
2. RightClick a Container Field in a FileMaker database. Select Insert Picture. Navigate to the the EPS file. The EPS's low-res raster preview image is displayed in the Container Field.
3. Print. Select Adobe PDF as the printer. View the resulting PDF in a Acrobat Reader.
Expected result
The PDF should display the actual content of the EPS file; the scaleable, resolution-independent, vector artwork (as it did when doing the same thing in FileMaker 11).Actual result
Using FileMaker 13, the resulting PDF contains only the low-res EPS raster preview image.Configuration information
Tested this multiple times on the same machine, using FileMaker Advanced 11 and FileMaker Advanced 13.Tried both importing the EPS into the Container Field as a reference and embedded. Same results either way.
The EPS being imported was stored locally on the same computer; not accessed over a network.
